Blood: The Last Vampire – Live Action

[SPWAG] Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group has picked up all rights to Blood: The Last Vampire. Samuel Goldwyn Films will be handling the release, in the US, this summer of Chris Nahon’s film – English language live action version of the original Japanese anime film. Gianna Jun, South Korea’s Jeon Ji-Hyun, that played My Sassy Girl, will be playing the main character known as Saya.

Casting is said to include Koyuki, Michael Byrne, Colin Salmon and Allison Miller. We also have Bill Kong and Abel Nahmias producing and Cory Yuen [stunt master] choreographing the action. Opening in Japan on May 29th [title being Last Blood], in the United Kingdom on June 12th, then in France on June 17th. It will also make an appearance in Hong Kong, Korea, Signapore and other countries in June.

“We had a great collaboration with Sony Pictures in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and we feel so excited to work with them again,” Kong said. “Blood: The Last Vampire is action-packed and powerful, and we can’t wait to show this movie to audiences over the world.”
